A herd of life-size mannequin elephants shall be paraded by central London on Saturday to trumpet the concept that people and wild animals can share area on this crowded world.

The 125 elephants, dropped at London by the conservation group Elephant Household, are the work of indigenous individuals who dwell alongside actual beasts in southern India’s Nilgiri Hills.

Elephant Household will use the cash raised for conservation actions, reminiscent of planting crops for elephants to eat on the sides of farmland to distract them from meals grown for people.It’s also working with Wild East, a charity making an attempt to return English farmland to its wild state to assist reverse declines in
chook populations.

Sculptors have made birds to face on the elephants. Some shall be on show at London’s Sladmore Up to date gallery as a part of an exhibition on coexistence in June and July that includes artist George Butler.

Till lockdown, Butler documented warfare zones reminiscent of Iraq and Syria by illustrations. Lockdown shifted his focus to the battle between man and nature.
